TWO DAYS WITH QIWEN

September 2013 - Paris

Qiwen Feng (23) made her debut as a model in 2008 in her native city of Chongqing, southwestern China, renowned for its three ’Hots’ (hot food, hot weather, hot girls). Qiwen’s career brought her from her hometown to Shanghai and then to New York City where she currently lives.

Qiwen always dreamt of taking to the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week. Her favorite designers are the past and current creative directors of the French fashion house Christian Dior, John Galliano and Raf Simons. Wilhelmina Models (New York) and City Models (Paris), both agencies representing Qiwen, fully believe in her talent and potential and are aiming at placing her at the highest level. The Spring/Summer 2014 fashion week is her second season in the French capital.

The daily schedule of Qiwen during Paris Fashion week is hectic, made up of fittings, castings, fashion shows and photo sessions. Her formula for survival is to keep a positive attitude, focus on good energy, eat healthy and rest as much as possible (despite the crazy hours) in order to be at her best. Family is important and Qiwen is in constant touch. In what little free time she has, the young model writes poetry.

While the future for young female models is far from certain, Qiwen makes the most of it. Being patient is the key. She believes that everything will come in its own time if you work hard enough and keep your focus. Her aspirations are high — to work for the best fashion houses and walk the runway for the greatest designers. After being chosen to present the creations for Dries Van Noten, Felipe Oliveira Baptista and John Galliano in Paris, Qiwen seems very much on the path towards becoming a super model. (Texte : B.
